To Relieve Heart Palpitations
There are a few things that a person can do to alleviate Heart Palpitations. First I would recommend that you have a medical doctor examine you to determine if your condition is dangerous or not. If the medical doctor feels that you are not in need of medical intervention then the following can help.
When using acupoints please try to remember to breathe deeply and slowly in a comfortable manner. Hold the points for a few minutes at a time with gentle firm pressure. You may want to visualize a warm golden light coming in with the inhale. Breathe this golden light directly into the points you are using and allow this golden light to revitalize and energize the points.
After holding the points you may wish to spend a minute or two breathing the golden light directly into the heart to strengthen the effect of the points you have just held.
When possible try to lay down while holding the following points. This will be especially beneficial if the palpitations are strong as this will help to relive some of the stress from the heart.
GB 20 FENG CHI
Location:
Below the base of the skull in the hollow between the two large vertical neck muscles (the lateral edge of the Trapezius muscle).

PC 6 NEIGUAN
Location:
On the inner wrist at the junction of the two arm bones. Place the ring finger on the last bones of the hand and the index finger will naturally land on the point. This point is on the middle of the wrist in a hollow between the two arm bones

Location:
On the inner wrist at the outer part of the arm. This point is in the groove between the tip on the arm bone and the hand bones.

Using The Points
Fengshi
The best way to access an energetic release of Gb 20 would be to get yourself two tennis balls and tie them up in a nylon stocking. While comfortably laying on your back place the balls at the base of your skull. Let your head sink into the balls as you breathe into the area at the base of your skull. Leave the balls there until you start feeling a tingling sensation in your scalp.
This is a good thing to do before going to sleep at night and upon waking in the morning. It will greatly help to release any neck tension as well as assist in the calming of the heart during palpitations.
Neiguan and Shenmen
Use gentle firm pressure with the thumb of the opposite hand to access these points. Always start with the Pc 6 point in the center of the arm first and then hold the Ht 7 point at the edge of the wrist. Hold the points for a few minutes at a time while breathing gently and deeply. Remember to use the golden light visualization while holding these points.
